Strange Noise

Jenna heard a strange humming noise. "Shush guys! Can you hear that?"

Jayson and I both asked at the same time, "Hear what?"

"I thought I heard an animal scream and then it was muffled, but it's like a humming noise."

"I hear it too." Gina said. "Sounds like a weird slithering noise to me."

We did the smart thing. We ran.

When The Animals Run

The big bird disappeared into the bushes.

"I think that's very strange behaviour. Why would the animals be running that way!" Gina said.

She asked, "What's one of the first things you learned in Reality Forest Matthew?"

Jenna answered, "I learned, if you sense something strange, run, and run fast."

Rachel Accepts Responsibility

Rachel was noticebly upset.

"I didn't think this would happen to her. I didn't mean to..." she cried.

Gina turned to Rachel and interupted, "It's over now. She's gone. You'll see lots of death here. Reality Forest is the scariest place on earth and you're trapped here, forever. Stop torchering yourself. Accept reality."

"We should find a place to rest before the sun goes down."

Scavengers Eat Woman's Leg

We were mesmerized by the scavengers eating Tracy's leg.

I don't think her leg would even rot completely, there are so many critters taking a nibble at it.

Even the birds are using what they can. They would swoop down and scoop up her hair to take back and line their nests.

At least nothing goes to waist in Reality Forest.

Finding Tracy's Remains

We made it back to the waterfall. It seemed to take forever. As usual, the insects in Reality Forest were everwhere...

...including eating what remained of Tracy.

I didn't see any other body parts. But what's most important, is the giant man-eating alligator isn't around.

I put my arm up, "Stop everyone! Yes, it's her leg."

I didn't expect everyone to look, but they did.

We all paused for a moment of silence.

Finding The Others

We heard one of the girls screaming.
"It sounds like Pinky!" Jayson said.

It sounded like she was screaming for her life.
"We have to go find her. We should go now while the gator's occupied." I said.

Gina agreed.

"W-w-w-we can't." Jayson muttered.

"I'm sorry for what happened to Tracy Jay, but we have to go help the others before they get into more trouble. It's what's best Jay. We should stick together in Reality Forest. You come with us..."

"...or you can stay here and watch the rest of your best friend get eaten by the gator. Maybe you'll be next in line. You look like a nice tasty meal to a gator. Slurp! There'll be scavengers here soon too."

Tracy Loses Her Head

The alligator's jaws were lightning quick when it finally caught Tracy. We could hear the crunch of her skull all the way over here.

At least the gator had the decency to kill quick.

I'll never forget the fear in her eyes. They were very googly after she was dead.

The three of us couldn't believe our own eyes. We lost a new friend.
I felt badly for Jayson, he lost his good friend.

He's got us now.
This is life in Reality Forest.

Trying To Help Tracy Escape

Tracy kicked and scooted on the ground to get away from the beast.

I hollered to try and get the alligator's attention.
Gina threw rocks.

Jayson stood there and yelled at it. "Get away from her bitch! Hay!"

It ignored Jayson and snapped its jaws at Tracy some more...

The Gator Attacks

Everyone ran.
The monster gator had a hunger in his eyes.
Jayson dived out of the way towards me.

Pinky dove into the bush...

...and Peter jumped over some bushes too.

He's going to end up with some serious scrapes and scratches.

Tracy had everywhere to go but couldn't move.

The Gator Moves In

No one else saw the alligator moving in.

It was vicious and nasty, and looking for trouble. Did I mention it was big? It was very very big. Not as big as the last one we ran into, but it was big enough.

Pinky was first to see it. She screamed, "Holy crap! Look at the size of that thing. Look Out!"

He showed a very healthy row of sharp teeth as he snapped.

It was headed for Tracy and Jayson.

The Girls Escape Quietly

Jenna and Rachel stood back and listened. They really did keep to themselves.

Peter still kept talking about the dog that bit him. Turns out it was his pet dog and the dog bit him a lot.

Jenna and Rachel were so quiet that everyone stopped paying attention to them.

But they sure noticed something...

...and this something wasn't happy...
